About Us

Build Africa Alliance is a UK-based social enterprise dedicated to strengthening Africa’s startup ecosystem through the collective power of the African diaspora. We believe that Africans everywhere — whether on the continent or abroad — have a shared role in building the continent’s future.

Founded by Florence A Otim, Build Africa Alliance channels small monthly contributions into micro-grants for early-stage startups that otherwise struggle to access funding.

Our Mission

To mobilise the African diaspora to empower African entrepreneurs through accessible, reliable grant funding — creating economic growth, local opportunities, and long-term community impact.

Our Vision

A prosperous and self-sustaining Africa whose innovation is fuelled by Africans themselves.

What We Do

Grant Funding for Startups — Every month, we provide micro-grants to promising startups. These grants help entrepreneurs purchase equipment, grow their stock, or stabilise their operations.

Showcasing African Innovation — We publish weekly stories on startups across the continent, and highlight Africa’s rapid progress in technology, agriculture, infrastructure, and more.

Inspiring the Diaspora — Through our website, YouTube channel, and social media content, we share uplifting, fact-based narratives that rebuild confidence in Africa’s future and encourage the diaspora to participate in its progress.

Why It Matters

Africa is home to some of the world’s most creative and determined entrepreneurs — yet many lack access to early funding. Meanwhile, millions in the diaspora have stable incomes and a desire to give back, but no structured, transparent avenue to do so. Build Africa Alliance bridges this gap.

A small amount of capital can be the difference between stagnation and growth.

Together, we can unlock Africa’s potential — one startup at a time.
